SBBC organizing committee
2021 will begin with the celebration of the XX Congress of the Brazilian Society for Cell Biology (SBBC) that will be held fully online, broadcasted from São Paulo, Brazil. The board is working as organizing and scientific joint-committee to prepare a program that will cover the multidisciplinary approaches of Cell Biology and education in the pandemic scenario. Considering the safety measures to guarantee the best meeting to our community, we decided to go fully online. We will also celebrate the 20th meeting with a series of online activities in science&art, enthusiastic discussions during online poster sessions, awards, classics in cell biology, and the exhibition of the companies.
SBBC board has received suggestions from associate members and in a broad spectrum of themes, we intend to inspire and motivate scientists at all ages, experience levels, and interests. During the Congress, we will also have the 3rd Young Researcher Award, and the winner will be announced at the closing ceremony.
Differently from our previous congresses, we had pre-meeting courses happening from October 2019 to November 2020, aiming to spread the methodologies and cell biology context to different sites in Brazil throughout the year.
The session “Classics in Cell Biology” renders a special moment in which our eminent scientists can share insights of their life, carrier, and contribution to Science and in 2020 the board indicated Dr. Wilson Savino to deliver this talk. Additionally, we will announce the best initiative in Cell Biology education.
Although we are living in a different and complex scenario, in which we regret our losses and the tortuous strategies, it is a worldwide situation, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to celebrate Science and to welcome students, cell biologists and scientists at our online meeting.
Keep it safe and healthy, and join us at the Virtual XX SBBC meeting!
